I'm proud to share that PatientCare is part of Botswana Tech Fund's first accelerator cohort and is featured in the fund's portfolio. We are representing Namibia alongside founders building businesses across Southern Africa.
Since launching on 16 January 2026, we have rebuilt and restructured the business. Being selected gives me encouragement after months of working through what PatientCare needs to become.
The selection followed scrutiny from investors and an investment committee involving people across Africa and the UK. Having our business examined at that level matters to me. It strengthens my confidence in the direction we are taking.
Why we are building PatientCare
The reason we are building PatientCare remains practical: when someone needs healthcare, they need a way to fund it, reach a provider and arrange the service. Those steps should work together.
A PatientCare Health Account lets individuals and families put money towards eligible care before they need it. Members use Health Units to pay for services, with care depending on their available balance and provider availability. Purchased Health Units do not expire.
Employers can contribute towards staff healthcare through agreed arrangements. Providers have tools to manage bookings, patient records and payments, and retain the full agreed fee for their services. These are the connections we are working to make more useful.
Our first clinic
Earlier this month, Phillip and I were working on onboarding our first clinic onto the PatientCare clinic system. Seeing our work begin to serve a clinic was a proud moment. The aim is to bring administration together and reduce repetitive tasks, giving clinic teams more time for their patients.
The people behind the milestone
I'm grateful to be building this with my co-founders, Phillip Theissen and Dr Suraia Schiceya. Having people beside you who share the responsibility makes a difference. This milestone belongs to the team.

I'm also grateful to mentors such as Jesaya Hano-Oshike, who has helped open doors for PatientCare and continues to challenge my thinking. I still have plenty to learn, and I value having people who will tell me what I need to hear.
Thank you to Botswana Tech Fund for the opportunity to learn alongside other founders and strengthen the business. We want to use that opportunity to improve what we deliver to families, employers and healthcare providers.
Proving the model in Namibia
Namibia is where we are working to prove the model. Growing into more markets across Southern Africa is our ambition, and that growth will need to be earned through the experience people have with PatientCare here.
If you are a clinic or employer interested in working with us, or a family exploring how to prepare for healthcare costs, visit PatientCare to learn more. Thank you to everyone following the journey and helping us move forward.
