Regulatory
PatientCare NAMFISA Disclosure
Effective 20 October 2025
PatientCare operates within a NAMFISA-cleared scope under the Financial Institutions and Markets Act (Act No. 2 of 2021). This page explains what that means in practice - our compliance posture, how we protect consumers, and how to raise a concern.
1.Regulatory status
PatientCare operates within a scope cleared by the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA). PatientCare does not provide credit, lending, insurance, or investment products. The platform facilitates the prepaid purchase of healthcare services from licensed providers in Namibian Dollars (NAD).
2.Compliance
We adhere to applicable NAMFISA expectations regarding data security, consumer protection, and operational conduct. PatientCare maintains internal compliance procedures, transparent reporting, and engages independent reviewers as part of its governance cycle.
3.Consumer protection
PatientCare upholds the consumer rights and protections established under Namibian law. Patients and healthcare providers using the platform are entitled to fair, transparent, and ethical treatment in all financial and service-related matters.
4.Complaints process
We are committed to resolving customer concerns promptly and transparently. If you have a complaint or dispute:
- Contact the PatientCare support team first at admin@patientcare.care.
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and aim to resolve it within 10 working days.
- If the issue remains unresolved, you may escalate it to NAMFISA for independent review.
5.Financial transparency
PatientCare maintains transparent pricing and operational practices. All applicable service fees, payment processing charges, and commissions are clearly displayed within the platform before any transaction is completed.
Payments are processed through regulated payment service providers such as Buddy, Finatic, and Flutterwave, ensuring that all financial transactions are handled securely and in compliance with the Financial Intelligence Act of Namibia.
6.Governance and compliance monitoring
PatientCare conducts periodic internal reviews and engages independent auditors to verify ongoing compliance. Our management team is responsible for implementing sound governance policies and maintaining accurate financial reporting.
7.Risk disclosure
PatientCare is not a credit, lending, insurance, or investment product. The PatientCare account is a prepaid balance you fund and use to pay for healthcare services - it does not earn interest, accrue debt, or guarantee future medical outcomes. All payments are made in Namibian Dollars (NAD) and relate solely to healthcare services rendered. Users are advised to review consultation fees, refund policies, and payment terms before proceeding with transactions.
